CTRC at The University of Texas Health Science Center

The Cancer Therapy & Research Center (CTRC) and its key research division, The Institute for Drug Development (IDD), have merged with The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Before the merger, the two institutions were partners in the San Antonio Cancer Institute, a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated cancer center.  The San Antonio Cancer Institute has been discontinued. The CTRC at The UT Health Science Center is now the NCI-designated cancer center.

CTRC’s mission is to conquer cancer through research, prevention and treatment.  As an NCI-designated cancer center, CTRC is recognized for scientific excellence and extensive resources focused on cancer.  CTRC’s total patient care system -- that consists of breakthrough research, state-of-the-art technology and multidisciplinary clinical care delivered through a team of world-class physicians, laboratory scientists and other medical professional -- allows it to seamlessly translate the latest research directly to patients.
