IDD - Phase I and II Patient Referral Office

Institute for Drug Development (IDD)

IDD Paitent Referral

The Phase I and II Patient Referral Office was established in 1992 as a single-point-of-contact capable of rapid triage of patients specifically referred for clinical trials. It receives referrals for Phase I and II clinical trials from clinical practices and centers worldwide. Rapid screening for clinical trial eligibility and rapid scheduling of appointments to the experimental therapeutic clinic is a high-priority at the IDD. The staff has instant access to a computerized database of Institutional Review Board (IRB)-approved clinical trials, to Principle Investigators, or Research Coordinators for any questions and to scheduling staff in all clinic areas. In addition, the staff is required to attend weekly Phase I and II clinical trials meetings where all IRB-approved and open-to-accrual clinical trials are discussed to facilitate enrollment and to meet accrual targets.
