We hope you can join us for the upcoming Annual Symposium of the Cancer Therapy & Research Center (CTRC) that will be held at the Greehey Children’s Cancer Research Institute of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, 8403 Floyd Curl Drive, San Antonio, on Friday, November 30, 2012.
We will have two platform sessions with Keynote Presentations, one in the morning on novel approaches to drug discovery guided by protein structure, and one immediately after lunch on the challenges of transitioning from the laboratory to clinical development, with some local case studies. We will also be highlighting several new Core Facilities available to the UTHSCSA community that will enhance everyone’s access for drug discovery opportunities.
There will also be a competitive poster session where pre-doctoral and post-doctoral students and fellows at UTHSCSA whose mentors are CTRC members (either Full or Associate) will showcase their cancer research projects. Posters will be judged by a panel of faculty from UTHSCSA, UTSA and UT Austin during the symposium and awards presented to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place posters in both pre-doctoral and post-doctoral categories. Only students and fellows/post-doctorates are eligible for awards.
This symposium is supported by the CTRC of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, through the NCI Cancer Center Support Grant (P30 CA054174). The symposium is organized with help from Drs. Bruce Nicholson, Steven Weitman, Susan Mooberry, Ian Thompson and the CTRC Executive Committee.
