On behalf of the scientists and physicians of the Cancer Therapy & Research Center, we are pleased to provide you with the first edition of the CTRC Speaker's Bureau booklet. The origin of the Speaker's Bureau came from suggestions from our neighbors and friends in San Antonio and South Texas. Our collection of incredible talent — both scientifically and clinically — often leads to requests for speakers for social or educational events. After their presentations, we often hear back, "When can they come back?" or "Who else can come and give a talk like that?"
In response to what our community has requested, we have developed the Speaker's Bureau. Our faculty are available for your events or meetings to help educate about cancer prevention, detection, and treatment as well as the exciting scientific advances occurring at the CTRC and the UT Health Science Center here in San Antonio. Our goal is a better educated and informed community as, through this, we can help prevent and cure cancer. Ultimately, that is our responsibility.
The CTRC is a National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center, a designation that requires tremendous focus on advancing care by developing tomorrow's treatments today. As a component of the University of Texas System and the UT Health Science Center and with doctors and scientists who live in San Antonio and South Texas, we consider it a privilege and unique responsibility to fulfill this mission. We are, after all, your CTRC!
Please scan through the pages of the Speaker's Bureau booklet (click to download the PDF file) and if you would like one of these speakers to present at an event, large or small, please call our scheduler at (210) 450-5574 or email your request to firstname.lastname@example.org. If your group has a particular interest in any other fields, we can almost always identify a member of our faculty for such a subject.
I'm excited about this new initiative. Please take advantage of it; help us to prevent and cure cancer!
